Junior Members
Children aged 10 - 16 are our Junior members. Any child under the age of 10 is welcome to join, but we would ask that a responsible adult accompanies them and is responsible for them.
Adult Members
Anyone over the age of 16 is regarded as an Adult member.
Subs
To help pay for the hire of the hall each week, we charge 1.00 per member per week. This must be paid even if you are not in attendance.
Meeting
We meet every Monday evening - except Bank Holiday Mondays - for rehearsals at The Bush RAC, New Fosseway Road, Hengrove, Bristol. Rehearsals start at 7.00 pm and finish at 9.30 pm.
How to Join
If you are interested in joining the group, in the first instance please contact us, that way we can let you know a bit more and arrange for you to come along and see what we are all about. There are no formal interviews, auditions or application forms. Even if you have no experience in the Theatre, you are still welcome. If you don't feel you can act on stage, that is not a problem as we need more people to help behind the scenes.
Help Needed - We need members who can help in the following areas
Back Stage Crew - You will work in co-ordination with the Stage Manager. We are currently looking for help back stage, you will follow a script and cue actors on and off the stage, ensuring they are wearing correct costumes and have necessary props to hand. You must keep the access points clear at all times and usher performers away from the back stage area if they are not due on stage. Silence is needed throughout the performance and some of the performers need constantly reminding of this.
Prompting - You will work in co-ordination with the Director. We are currently looking for someone to sit in the audience with a script and follow the performance. If any performer looks for help with a line, you should give the first few words so they can remember. If a performer gets the line completely wrong, you must correct them.
Lighting Technician - You will work in co-ordination with the Lighting Manager. We are currently looking for someone to help rig the lighting system we have. No experience is necessary as full training will be given. However, this position can be quite physical as some lifting and bending is involved.
Performers - You will work in co-ordination with the Director and Stage Manager. We are currently looking for performers. No experience is necessary. We produce theatre which includes acting, singing, dancing, readings - anything goes!
