Things can change very quickly nowadays, and Bears Bridge is no exception to the rule.  We may meet on a weekly basis, but news can break every day.

 

News for March 2006

 

After much nailbiting and finger crossing we received the news that we never thought we would hear.  The National Lottery Awards for All scheme has given us some money.  We are planning to spend most of this money on some proper sound equipment.  The rest of it's going on costumes, props and printing.

News for April 2006

 

This is amazing.  After not having anything exciting happen for a long time it all seems to come at the same time.  First of all we had a letter from Kerry McCarthy the Member of Parliament for Bristol East - where we are based.  It seems that not only are we recognised by the National Lottery, but also by "The Government"!!

 

On the same day as we got the letter from the MP, we also got a phone call from BBC Radio Bristol.  They have asked if someone can go along for a live interview on 12th April. So tune in to BBC Radio Bristol at 3.45 pm to hear Steve, LIVE!  Good Luck Steve, we are all with you.

News for May 2006

 

We have started on improvisations for our new show which we will put on in the beginning of 2007.

 

We have spent some of our Lottery money.  We have purchased some new sound equipment.

 

News for June 2006

 

June so far has been a fairly quiet month.  We received a booking from Begbrook Primary School in Frenchay.  We had two weeks to produce a half hour show for them - and we did it.  The kids really seemed to enjoy themselves, and despite the short notice we pulled off a fantastic performance that worked very well.  We have now decided to keep the show and promote it to other venues to help raise more funds.

 

Coming soon!  Due to some problems we have had to postpone our show "Sweet Dreams".  This will now be performed end of October, beginning of November.  However, we will also be working on a new show for January too so the next 6 - 8 months are going to be very busy with rehearsals.

 

A Good time to join  At the end of May we plan to start rehearsals for our new show.  This is a good time to join the company as there could be a part for you.
